List of countries to which your Personal Data may be transferred
Below you will find the list of countries to which your Personal Data may be transferred by the Bank as part of its regular commercial activities, depending on the services and/or products you use:
European Union Member States |
United Kingdom |
Hong Kong* (for matters relating to the local representative office) |
United Arab Emirates* (for matters relating to the local representative office) |
Countries marked with an asterisk are countries whose data protection regulations have not been recognised as "adequate" (i.e. comparable standard) from the perspective of Swiss data protection law. Your Personal Data may be transferred to these countries in compliance with regulatory obligations (see Article II.6 of the Data Protection Notice).
In addition to the countries listed above, your Personal Data may be transferred to other countries when you subscribe to specific services or products with the Bank that involve the intervention of a third-party company. Payment methods such as debit or credit cards, whose international payment network is operated by a third company (e.g. Visa or Mastercard), are an example of this. In such cases, the processing of your Personal Data is subject to the specific rules of this third-party company, which acts as an independent data controller. For more details, please consult the privacy policy of the third-party company concerned.
In addition, please note that your Personal Data may be transferred to other countries in accordance with the account holder's (or authorised representative's) specific instructions and requests to the Bank. For example, as part of a payment instruction in a currency other than CHF, the Bank shares certain Personal Data of the originator with the corresponding bank located outside Switzerland. Similarly, certain Personal Data may have to be communicated outside Switzerland in connection with investments in certain collective investment schemes or in the fulfilment of other legal or regulatory obligations applicable to the Bank, according to the circumstances.
You will find additional information on this subject in the Data Protection Notice. If your question is not answered in the Data Protection Notice, feel free to contact the Bank using the following address: protectiondesdonnees@bcge.ch
Capitalised terms are defined in the Data Protection Notice.
